Open Position: Consultant

The ideal candidate will possess an entrepreneurial spirit, a love of travel, strong critical thinking and writing skills, and a passion for the hospitality industry. JGL is a boutique consultancy that embraces collaboration, open-mindedness, and creative thinking. Our goal is to find ways to improve client operations so that we can support the important organizations we work with.    

Role

  • Support JGL President and consulting team on various projects including but not limited to cultural, higher education, and corporate dining
  • Contribute to JGL’s overall growth by being a productive team member
  • Draft RFPs under the guidance of JGL
  • Manage communication with JGL clients and prospective bidders on RFP processes
  • Prepare other RFP documents including bid summaries, financial comparisons, reference summaries and bidder lists as needed
  • Participate in other JGL projects including assessments and feasibility studies under the guidance of JGL
  • Participate in weekly JGL team meeting
  • Keep up to date on industry trends pertaining to food service in the cultural, corporate, and higher education arenas
  • Contribute to the JGL team by being an active and engaged staff member
  • Utilize JGL resources including Monday project management, ACT database, and Dropbox
  • Assist with business development efforts by supporting regular outreach efforts. Responsibilities might include calling prospective clients, attendance at industry trade shows, and emailing prospective clients.

 Requirements

  • Minimum five years’ food service management experience; food service management experience in cultural environments is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to be resourceful and self-directed yet willing and able to request help
  • Ability to review and analyze operating statements
  • Proficiency with Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Adaptable to learning new systems
  • Ability to juggle multiple simultaneous priorities
  • Travel is required; may be as often as 1-4 times a month
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
