Barry Skown
ConsultantBarry is our newest JGL teammate (joining in 2024) but is definitely no stranger to the foodservice and hospitality industry. Barry’s foodservice experience spans 25+ years and includes both operational leadership and consultant roles.
After receiving his HRM degree from the University of Denver, Barry used his passion for food and foodservice to begin his career as a restaurant manager with Westin Hotels. From there, Barry moved between the operations and consulting disciplines including roles with Cini-Little, Bon Appetit and Fooda.
Based in San Diego, and a former Bay Area resident as well, Barry has worked with many of the most famous cultural venues, universities, and corporations on the west coast.
Barry’s favorite foods include a list as long as his tenure in the industry and include Asian fusion/ramen, blue crab, sushi, Mexican, blueberries, and just about anything “chocolate”. His favorite gift shop item is a large, logo’d coffee mug.
