Brooke Botwinick
VP of Marketing and Strategic Operations, Principal ConsultantBrooke began her career in the event industry managing fundraising and campaign events for NYC Public Advocate, Betsy Gotbaum. Brooke’s fundraising and event experience led her to the New-York Historical Society in 2005 where she became the Director of Special Events. Brooke managed the organization’s major donor and advancement events while also overseeing the development of the external rental program. Brooke was instrumental in creating a thriving rental program which resulted in significant earned income and exposure for the institution.
In 2009, the Historical Society began an ambitious multi-million-dollar renovation which included an on-site restaurant and the need for an exclusive operator. It was at this time that Brooke was introduced to JGL and the food service RFP process. Once the Historical Society had selected their operator, Brooke made the decision to shift her career focus from events and venue management to food service. Brooke worked for Restaurant Associates from 2011 to 2014 as a Director of Catering. She had the great privilege of working at Carnegie Hall and then for the American Museum of Natural History.
In 2014, Brooke joined JGL as the firm’s first full time employee and discovered her passion for consulting. Her understanding of events, fundraising, venue marketing, planning, and operations, allows Brooke to provide JGL’s clients with a global perspective on how to best achieve their goals.
Brooke’s favorite foods are pizza and warm chocolate chip cookies. Her favorite gift shop item is a super soft Bronx Zoo t-shirt.
