JGL Consultants is pleased to announce that Martin Thorson has joined the firm to lead its Convention Center Consulting practice.
Martin brings more than two decades of executive leadership across stadiums, arenas, convention centers, and large-scale hospitality operations. His background includes senior roles with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Levy/Compass, Spectra/OVG, Sodexo Live, SMG/ASM Global, and numerous major public assembly venues across the country. His deep operational experience and strategic perspective uniquely position him to guide clients through today’s rapidly evolving venue and foodservice landscape.
In his new role, Martin will support Cities, Counties, Authorities, Venue Managers, Sports Teams, and Ownership Groups with challenges related to:
- Outsourced food & beverage program structures
- RFP development, evaluation, and operator selection
- Contract negotiation and financial alignment
- Pre-opening planning and operational assessments
- Performance benchmarking and optimization
- Strategic planning for expansions, redevelopment, or new developments
